With Mother’s Day just around the corner there’s one present having a “big comeback”.Flowers seem to be doing better than ever this year, according to one flower grower.Cheryl Roehrich from Dakota Flower Company – which grows and distributes wholesale blooms – tells 9honey the lead up to Mother’s Day this year has been a “really busy” one.

Richard and Cheryl Roehrich started Dakota Flower Company 35 years ago and are regulars at Melbourne’s Wholesale Flower Market in Epping.”All the florists that I’ve spoken to yesterday were all over overwhelmed with orders,” Roehrich tells 9honey. ” Which is a really good sign because, you know, a few years ago people were struggling to even open their doors and have anything out there,” she explains.

“It seems like there’s been a big comeback for flowers this year.”Roehrich later adds she’s noticed “people seem to be going for flowers more so even this year because it’s a cheap but beautiful present.”Wholesale flower traders and growers at Victoria’s National Flower Centre are set to sell up to a whopping three million flowers in the lead up to Mother’s Day this year.
