The Pantone Color Institute, one of the most important references in the creation of trends and color integration for product development and brand identity, has recently announced the selection of Viva Magenta as the color of the year 2023.
But it’s not just about the color itself. It also suggests a palette that has been called the “Magentaverse” of colors, as they are complementary shades that go very well with the main color.
Magentaverse’s Power
“An unconventional red for an unconventional time” is Pantone’s description of its color of the year, as well as qualifying it as “powerful and motivating.”
“Breaking out of the mold, being rebellious, and being bold is the philosophy that Viva Magenta brings us in its spirit for this year, a vision that we welcome from Verdissimo. That’s why we show you pieces of preserved nature that help you think outside the standards and be inside the Magentaverse,” the Verdissimo team says.
Between the real and the virtual
The Magentaverse is composed of eight colors, all of which are perfect alternatives to and complements of the color of the year. The palette explores the relationship between technology, virtual reality, digital, and real life.
This concept is linked to the metaverse and the idea that the future is now, in a combination of the technological and the natural. And perhaps that is the main idea: to return to nature but with an eye on that alternative reality in which we all also interact.
