Tuesday, February 7, is when it’s all going to happen: the opening of the spring edition of Plantarium | Groen-direkt. With 170 stand holders and at least 5000 sample batches, the fair will offer professional garden plant buyers a full range of directly available outdoor plants. And that’s not all. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite product in the Visitors’ Favorite contest, while the trend plaza will present inspiring solutions to contemporary gardening problems, and purple focus signs will attract attention to exhibitors’ new products, special offers, and other items of interest.
The 170 stand holders mean that this first spring edition of Plantarium | Groen-direkt is fully booked to the very last square meter. “Fortunately, we have been able to honor all applications for stand areas by creating some extra space at the last minute. The stand holders, sample batches, novelties and trend plaza will together offer the professional visitors a full range of outdoor plants and plenty of inspiration for new ideas and know-how,” says fair director Linda Hoogendoorn-Veelenturf.
Working visit
Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Jeannette Baljeu, deputy of the province of South Holland, and the board of Mayor and Aldermen of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn intend to pay a working visit to Plantarium | Groen-direkt on Tuesday, February 7. A group of exhibitors will then inform the minister, the deputy and the board about the importance of international trade for nurseries, and explain how outdoor plants can help create a more sustainable living environment. Trend plaza: solutions to contemporary gardening problems, says
more and more garden owners would like to do something to help bees, or have an area in their garden where their plants aren’t growing well. At Plantarium | Groen-direkt, Romeo Sommers will be presenting all kinds of solutions to present-day gardening problems. He will, for example, explain which plants thrive in wet soil and which do particularly well in a hot, dry part of a garden, how gardens can boost biodiversity, and what you could do if you don’t have a garden. Romeo will present ideas and combinations of plants and other sustainable articles that will also be of interest to garden centers. This he will do together with students, so that they will also know how to offer the best advice to new consumers by the time the students themselves become involved in the sale of plants. On Tuesday, February 7, Romeo will give live presentations at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. These presentations will be shown on screen on Wednesday. Do go along to the trend plaza if you happen to be at the fair around any of these times! Needless to say, you’ll find plenty of inspiration at the plaza outside these presentations and on Wednesday, too.
