From 22 to 24 February, Select Breeding is organising an Open House. This will take place at the new location at Nini Flowers in Naivasha. This is a bit more central and, at 5000 m2, is also larger than the previous greenhouse.
On 2500 m2, 4 commercial varieties are planted for buckwood bank construction. 1500 m2 is dedicated to the presentation of the range, and 1000 m2 is set up for the new codes.
There are many new cut and spray roses in bloom, of which Dennis and Michael de Geus, who are both present, like to get grower input in the selection.
During the open house days, the new 2-coloured yellow/red rose Firefox will be introduced. This has a bud height of 4 cm, and is ‘highly productive and very strong in transport and vase life’.
