Royal FloraHolland: Construction update development area Aalsmeer-Oost

April 29, 2023

The development area Aalsmeer-Oost is situated at a visible location on the N201, near the entrance of Royal FloraHolland Aalsmeer. At this location, Royal FloraHolland offers floriculture entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow further. The product street here has a good connection to Aalsmeer-Oost and Aalsmeer-Centrum, enabling efficient supply and removal of flowers, plants, and logistics resources. An Uninterrupted Logistics Connection (OLV) provides a good connection towards A4, A9, and Schiphol Airport.

Continue your journey undisturbed via the Undisturbed Logistics Connection
With the design of the Aalsmeer-Oost development, Royal FloraHolland, together with the authorities, is improving logistics, infrastructure, and delivery speed from the site. For good access to the development area East, a new OLV entrance and exit and good accessibility via public transport will be worked on in 2023-2024.

A new entrance will be built from the N201 for cars and trucks. This entrance will connect to the roundabout at FloriWorld. Work on this new entrance started on 3 April. With the completion in the first quarter of 2024, the existing entrance and exit at Legmeerdijk will be relieved.

New OLV exit across the car park North
This will take you directly to the N201 via Middenweg. An exit of the Undisturbed Logistic Connection will be realized in two phases:

First phase exit: Hornweg
The tunnel under Hornweg has been completed since December 2022. In addition, the landscaping has been planted by mid-April 2023. The tunnel trench at Hornweg will reduce noise pollution for local residents. The efficient driving route via the passage through the noise barrier and the tunnel trench is only open to trucks and buses during working hours between 07.00-19.00 hrs. Outside working hours and on weekends, these passages will be closed. The tunnel trench is located near the 100,000 m2 cart yard.

Second phase exit: Middenweg
In the fourth quarter of 2022, work started on the second phase of the OLV exit at Middenweg. Acquired plots have been cleared to straighten Middenweg. Completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2023, opening the entire OLV exit to freight traffic.

To Royal FloraHolland by public transport
Good accessibility to the site by public transport has also been considered. There are currently two temporary bus stops near Floradôme. There will be permanent stops along Legmeerdijk. A footbridge will provide a safe walking route to the various Royal FloraHolland sites. A sustainable design has been chosen. Once the bus stops are in place (in the second quarter of 2024), the two temporary bus stops at Floradôme will disappear.
