Plant webshop PLNTS has acquired Bloomique and its owner Herbie, that specializes in retail and webshop goods processing logistics. With those, PLNTS strengthened its top-five market position since, in December, it also took over 123Planten.nl and 123kantoorplanten.nl.
Bloomique is active in ten countries and offers a range of 2,000+ indoor and garden plants that come directly from growers. Herbie has strong positions on marketplaces like Amazon, with the Bloomique consumer label giving an optimal online plant experience.

The plant platform is using a buy-and-build strategy to build a solid group within the online plant market that must contribute to further internationalization. Triple Group and Marktlink outline that strategy. Marktlink advises PLNTS regarding acquisitions and handles the transactions’ legalities.
Former owner Harm van Dalen is still part of PLTN’s new structure. “Many companies are keen to outsource green e-fulfillment’s logistics activities. By adding Herbie to the PLNTS platform, we’re making the most of the various companies’ synergy. Joining forces lets us take full advantage of cost efficiencies and scale economies. That puts us in an even better position to connect existing and new retailers, including webshops, to Herbie’s platform.”
PLNTS is an e-commerce platform for plant lovers that grew from the Mostert family business, established in the Netherlands in 1860. Four fourth-generation brothers decided to grow small houseplants under the name BabyPLNTS. To share their love of these plants, they started an online platform in 2018. That has since grown into an online community with a webshop, selling rare, house, and small plants and the products to care for them properly.

We’re talking with several players to strengthen PLNTS in the market through acquisitions further, but we are also always open to new introductions.”
