New plant varieties, innovative technology, and trendy sales ideas for the green retail trade: after a break due to the pandemic, IPM ESSEN will finally be back at Messe Essen from 24 to 27 January 2023. The trend-setting order and networking platform for the global green industry offers solutions for current challenges. The sustainable production, packaging, and logistics of plants, urban trees of the future, and concepts for the promotion of biodiversity are just a few of the topics that the international trade fair will highlight. This year’s partner country is Great Britain, with its impressive culture and tradition in horticulture.
The panel will include Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen; Eva Kähler-Theuerkauf, President of the North Rhine-Westphalia Horticultural Association and Chairwoman of the IPM ESSEN Trade Fair Advisory Board; Klaus Götz, President of the Fachverband deutscher Floristen – Bundesverband (FDF); and Jürgen Mertz, President of the Zentralverband Gartenbau (ZVG). Pat Flynn, Manager of the British Commercial Horticultural Association (CHA), and Dr. Elizabeth Warham, Head of Agricultural Technology at the British Department for International Trade, will speak as representatives of the partner country.
Following the press conference, FDF Creative Director Manfred Hoffmann will present floristic trends for 2023. You can also expect selected products and trade fair innovations from our exhibitors, among other things, a brand new garland hydrangea from the company Cultivaris as well as a CO²-storing organic plant charcoal from the young company Wundergarten, which reduces fertilizing and watering, and at the same time increases the yield.
