“If 2022 was the year of consolidation, hopefully 2023 will be the year of growth and ‘normality’ again”

“Many discussions have shown that the basic mood is good and seems to be getting better. We must now build on this and get the market for flowers and plants up and running together. If 2022 was the
year of consolidation, hopefully, 2023 will be the year of growth and ‘normality’ again”, says Oliver Mans, CEO of Landgard, when reflecting on the IPM Essen that took place last week. It was his first IPM as Landgard CEO.

This year, their booth was a bit different. It was redesigned as a communication platform for producers, customers and Landgard employees. With the traditional Flower Hour at the Landgard booth on
Thursday evening, the producer cooperative, together with
member companies, customers, and industry partners, set a
the high point after three intensive days of the fair and drew a
first conclusion on the International Plant Fair 2023. “The last
few days have shown: The green sector needs this trade fair,
it needs this start to the year,”

The speakers also discussed how cooperation with strong partners can contribute to making the high-quality flowers and plants from the production companies even more attractive to consumers. A successful example of this is the “Landlust Kollektion”, which Landgard launched together with a  magazine for garden lovers. “Each Landlust issue is read by around four million people – that’s
half a ‘Tatort’,” explains publisher Frank Gloystein the magazine’s reach. “What distinguishes Landgard and the member companies is what the Landlust brand stands for: high quality, a connection to home, expertise in the field of gardens, but also expertise in the field of marketing and customer needs. This is also what distinguishes our
cooperation.” And this is also well received by the readership of Landlust, as the feedback, that the editors receive, regularly shows. “This gives us a fairly representative average opinion of our readership – and it confirms: Yes, they love it very much. It’s totally authentic, and I can see where the product comes from, who lovingly nurtured and cared for this plant – all of this characterizes our cooperation.” Both partners want to continue to build on this successful basis in the future – and expand the product portfolio of the Landlust Kollektion continuously together.
