The family-owned tree nursery Lüers and the team of at the plant wholesale department Lüers in Westerstede/ Northwestern Germany invite existing and potential customers and horticulturists to the annual plant fair “Oldenburger Vielfalt” at the nursery. This is the time when the leading tree nurseries in the Ammerland region host the plant fairs at their respective premises. This year’s event happens between August 21 and 25, 2023.
Lüers will showcase five of their most important sales concepts:
Calluna/ winter hardy Calluna
2023 is the first year that Lüers completely switched the breeding line for the most important crop in the assortment, the Calluna heather plants. The team will present the “Heather all-year around” program of the breeder Beauty Seasons®. For summer sales, the nursery produces Daboecia cantabrica Bella Beauties, the Irish Bell Heather, with rather upright showing bells. The main crop is the Calluna brand Beauty Ladies® followed in late autumn and winter by the winter hardy Erica carnea Winter Beauties®, the Snow Heather. Additionally, two sets of the beautiful Hebe x andersonii, All Blooms from New Zealand, offered in complete peat-free growing media, complete the program.
Heckenprofi – a program for Hedge plants
800.000 conifers for hedges are produced annually in 2 l to 15 l containers. The plants are grown in the pot resulting in a good root system and even quality. As for the heather concepts, the containers are made from post-consumer recycled material.
Windspiel – ornamental grasses
Windspiel is the newest concept geared towards ornamental grasses and bamboo, guaranteeing structure and tranquillity for every garden.
The three fruit crop programs mean freshness thanks to the practical concepts for the small garden, patio, and balcony. Irrigate-Harvest-Consume = It can’t get fresher.
Stadt Ernte
Lüers received the TASPO Award donated by the German trade newspaper. The assortment consists of vegetables, berry fruits and apples, pears, plums, and cherries. For some container sizes, plants are offered in Bio quality in almost peat-free or peat-free substrates.
Fruchtbar (Fruitful)
Pome and stone fruits with historical varieties and some cultivars suitable for consumers with allergies.
