This year, the Trade Fair in Naaldwijk wasn’t held at the auction, but at the Broodfabriek in Rijswijk due to maintenance. In total, some 200 growers showcased their assortment for the coming season there.
It can freeze or thaw, and that is especially true at this time of year. Because, although growers can still control so much in their greenhouses when spring starts, the bedding plants have to be taken out of the garden. And if the sun won’t shine, they are stuck with it.

In that sense, the weather is traditionally the main topic. The question/hope is that the trade will turn up in full force; the fair is a bit smaller in size than in previous years and not easy to walk to from the auction or the office.

At the same time, interest should be high anyway because the last ‘normal’ edition took place in 2019. In 2020, we experienced a ghost edition. In 2021, nothing at all went ahead, and a ‘digital’ edition was also canceled due to a lack of interest. And in 2022, it was decided to torpedo this edition as well.
