The Kunming Dounan Flower Market in southwest China’s Yunnan Province was crowded on February 13. Data from Kunming International Flora Auction Trading Center showed that 56.42 million branches of fresh-cut flowers were traded between January 24 and February 8, up nearly 40 percent year-on-year. With the full recovery of logistics and aviation capacity, the demand for fresh-cut flowers has surged.
Having been developed for more than 30 years, the Dounan flower market has formed an industrial cluster with two leading enterprises as the core, the only national flower trading market in China and the largest flower auction market in China, also the second largest in Asia. In addition to auctions and face-to-face offline transactions, some florists in Dounan also sell flowers online through live streaming.
