Dutch grower Bredefleur has taken over its neighbor’s site in Moerkapelle, a former potted plant company. This purchase will allow the lily grower to expand by around 8 hectares of greenhouse. The current site in Moerkapelle will be integrated with the newly acquired greenhouses into one large, future-proof lily nursery.
“We see room in the market,” the Evers brothers reveal on LinkedIn, “because there is demand from customers, but currently, we have too few greenhouse square meters to meet demand. This purchase gives us the opportunity to increase our quality, exclusivity, and continuity. Furthermore, we are a young and ambitious company, and we notice that the market is slowly depreciating while the lily market is not shrinking. There is, therefore, room to develop further as a company, and we are happy to jump into that gap.”
Expansion plans had been in place for some time, but the arrival on the market of the neighbor’s greenhouse was an opportunity in a thousand, explains Levi Evers, who forms the management of the company together with his brothers Peter, Thomas, and Ruben. In time, it should become one company, at one address, with production in Moerkapelle reaching 13.5 ha. However, this is not yet the case; for now, we are looking at how best to proceed. In any case, the fact that the company already has its own connection is a big advantage; in terms of energy supply, this offers opportunities and flexibility.
